October 24, 2026 – Sarah Johnson
Painting Pet Portraits
On Saturday, October 24, 12:30 – 2:30pm Sarah Johnson will hold a Pet Portrait workshop at Addison Trails High School for Addison Art Guild. Sarah M. Johnson is an oil painter and occasional watercolor/gouache painter of landscapes, portraits, and florals in a realism style with expressive and painterly elements.
Her pet portraits emphasize the eyes, bringing the viewer into their personalities and characteristics, as well as play with the light and shadow of the figure with the color and energy of the brush strokes. Sarah’s most popular commissions are pet portraits; however, she also has been commissioned to paint house portraits, people, and landscapes. She also paints live at weddings/live events, as well as bridal bouquets. Imperfection is accepted here in Sarah’s paintings, communicating to the viewer that you don’t have to be perfect to be beautiful, nor do you have to be perfect to be loved and admired. Her hope is to have the audience be in awe and wonder, to be inspired, to feel connected, feel alive, feel healed, and not feel alone.
Ticket Cost: member $40, nonmember $45, senior member $35, senior nonmember $40, student $30.
Attendees are to bring an 11×14” canvas, acrylic paints or oil paints, brushes, container for water, and paper towels. Sarah will supply the image to paint from.
